Luis Suarez secured Barcelona a point away at Atletico with a late headed equaliser, but the Uruguayan believed they 'deserved' to take all three points.
Barca's first trip to the Wanda Metropolitano ended with the teams sharing a point, with Luis Suarez silencing the home fans. The point ensured Barca maintained a five-point lead at the top - with Real Madrid making up ground with a 2-1 win over Getafe.
Speaking to Marca, the striker credited the performance of Atleti keeper Jan Oblak, who kept a dominant Barcelona side at bay: "Everyone knows that Atletico defends very well and has a great goalkeeper that shows up in every game. We deserved to take all three points."
Barca had the mainstay of possession as expected, with Atletico looking to absorb the pressure and hit the away side on the counter. Saul Niguez blasted home the opening goal, but Atletico failed to secure their first La Liga win over Barcelona in seven years.
However, Barcelona will be happy with the draw and to continue their unbeaten record in La Liga this season, securing 22 points from eight games:
"After being behind for almost the entire game, it's not a bad point" said Suarez, "It also comes against one of our rivals that will be fighting for the league."
With the Madrid clubs set to rival Barca for La Liga, the title is currently Ernesto Valverde's to lose, but anything can happen with 30 games still to play.
