Barcelona are stepping up their pursuit for a midfielder after failing to sign any so far this transfer window.
PSG's Marco Veratti has been linked with a move to the Nou Camp even before the window opened, however Barca are still yet to secure his signature after some troublesome negotiations.
Further reports have linked former Tottenham midfielder Paulinho - who is currently playing his football in China with Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao F.C. - with a move to the Catalan giants, however those reports are now becoming scare.
With both deals looking less likely to happen, according to Club Call, Barcelona have now turned their attention to Tottenham's Dele Alli.
Alli was named in the PFA Team of the Year for the second consecutive year last season, and won the highly coveted PFA Young Player of the Year award also for a second consecutive year.
He has been one of the Premier League's biggest breakout stars in recent years, and is one of England's most promising international players after establishing himself in the national team as a regular member.
According to the report from Club Call, both Lionel Messi and Neymar told Barca boss Ernesto Valverde last week to add the England international to his squad, with a bid for the 21-year-old seemingly imminent.
However, Tottenham have recently sold Kyle Walker to title rivals Manchester City for a fee around £50m, and Pochettino will be keen not to sell any more star players this transfer window.
Tottenham have mounted serious title challenges over the last two seasons, and with a temporary move to Wembley Stadium before a permanent move into their brand new stadium the following season, the club is definitely heading in the right direction.
However will they be tempted by another big money move? It was only four years ago when Tottenham received a world record £85.1m bid from Real Madrid for their then star player Gareth Bale. Whilst chairman Daniel Levy was reluctant at first, he eventually accepted the bid, and Bale was sent on his way.
Will he be as reluctant if Barca bid highly for Alli?
