Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué has taken to social media to poke fun at his long term friend and ex-Real Madrid rival Iker Casillas. The two have an ongoing, social media shot-taking exchange going on between them and Piqué's latest jab also sparked Borussia Dortmund defender Marc Bartra to get involved in the action.

Casillas, who is jetting off to Mexico for FC Porto's pre-season preparations, posted a picture on Instagram just before getting on the plane to join his teammates in South America. Piqué used this opportunity to strike the latest blow in the pairs light-hearted bater, as reported by AS.

Piqué's genius response to this was with the comment: "The best picture you have taken...it's a relief not to see your face!"

The two were part of La Liga's biggest rivalry for many years until Casillas left his boyhood club in 2015 to join Portuguese giants Porto.

Their national team exploits also started to fade out when Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea rose up the pecking order to become then national team manager Vicente del Bosque's number one choice between the sticks.

Ex-Barcelona defender Marc Bartra also joined in on the action with a sly 'It's better off like that' added to the conversation. Football banter certainly isn't a new thing on social media; however, to see the relationship these fierce rivals have built up is kinda inspiring and makes social media all the more enjoyable.
