The Sunday Times are claiming that Manchester City have entered the race for Real Madrid full-back Danilo.
Chelsea have reportedly been interested in the 26-year-old for a while now, but it is now thought that Pep Guardiola's side are looking to secure his signature ahead of their Premier League rivals.
Chelsea are looking to rebuild after their title winning campaign, in what will be the start of a new era for the club, with John Terry, Diego Costa and maybe even Nemanja Matic all set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
Chelsea have already started their summer spending, after securing the signing of £40m
Before City signed Kyle Walker for a record £50m, they only had one recognised full-back in the form of Aleksander Kolarov, in their squad.
If Danilo was to be bought to the Etihad for next season it could bring Manchester City's spending on full-backs to over £70m this summer, with more still expected to be needed after that.
Danilo played in 17 league games for Real Madrid last season, as he helped them achieve the La Liga and Champions League double.
However the former Porto man was second choice right-back behind Daniel Carvajal and as a result Real Madrid are thought to be willing to listen to offers for the 26-year-old.
Chelsea and Juventus were thought to be leading the way for the Real Madrid defender, however the Brazilian international's destination has become more uncertain with Manchester City voicing their interest.
