Chelsea appear to have won the race to sign Real Madrid outcast Danilo ahead of Juventus, according to the Daily Express.
The Premier League champions are reportedly closing in on the £28m capture of the right-back as they ramp up their transfer activity following a frustrating time in the market.
Danilo had been tipped to move to Turin and join Juventus after Los Blancos considered him to be surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Chelsea, though, are now the favourites to land the 25-year-old's signature and the news will be welcomed by first-team boss Antonio Conte, who has already missed out on two key targets in the current window.
Manchester United managed to poach Romelu Lukaku from under the Londoners' noses, while Juventus themselves have offered Chelsea target Alex Sandro a new lucrative deal to prevent him from completing a £61m switch to Stamford Bridge.
Conte, however, has had the last laugh over his former side by scuppering their own move for Danilo, and will view the Brazil international as excellent competition in the wing back roles in his preferred 3-4-3 system.
It doesn't matter whether Danilo is an upgrade on Moses or not, what matters is the competition. Moses/Alonso took it for granted last ssn.— Conteholic (@Conteholic) July 11, 2017
Conte is keen to officially secure Danilo's signature in time for Chelsea's pre-season tour of Asia, which kicks off on Sunday, and if he manages to do so it will prove to be a terrific past week for the Italian in the market.
Antonio Rudiger has already jetted in from Roma for a reported £35m, while Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to undergo a medical on Friday ahead of a £40m move to England's top flight.

Danilo has spent the past two seasons with Real following a big-money move from Porto, but he has only managed to turn out on 56 occasions for Zinedine Zidane's team with the Frenchman preferring Dani Carvajal in the right sided full-back position.
The 16-times capped Brazil international will vie with Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso for a place in Conte's starting lineup if he completes a switch from Spain's capital in the coming days.
