Alexis Sanchez posted a video of his badly-swollen ankle after coming off the bench to help Chile beat Cameroon 2-0 in their Confederations Cup opening match on Sunday.

The Arsenal forward, who sprained his ankle in training prior to the match, came on in the 58th minute to set up Arturo Vidal with a goal. However, Chile boss Juan Antonio Pizzi isn't sure if he will play the attacker in their next match.

“[We’re] optimistic from the images we’ve seen," he said, via The Sun.

“But we understand and know that the player still feels pain, and that’s why we’ll wait until tomorrow to decide if he plays.

“We don’t risk any player who is not in condition to play and who could aggravate an injury.

“We’re very careful with the health of our players, and because of that we always act with the responsibility required by our position.”

Chile will take on Germany on Thursday in their second group stage match, leaving Pizzi with enough time to make a sound decision.

Gunners fans, however, will be hoping that their star is rested.
