Bayern Munich to Land South Korean Teenage Starlet Dubbed 'the Next Son Heung-min'

Bayern Munich look to have won the race to sign South Korean teenager Woo-Yeong Jeong from Incheon United. 

​Naver Sports suggest that the two clubs are reported to have agreed on a €700k transfer fee, however, the winger will not be making the move to Bavaria until January due to FIFA regulations regarding the transfer of players under the age of 18. 

No player below that age can be transferred between clubs, and with Jeong still several months away from his 18th birthday, Carlo Ancelotti will have to wait until the new year before he sees the youngster join up with the rest of his squad. 

The 17-year-old is said to have been watched by Bayern for several months now and his impressive form in the K-league junior group A saw him offered trials with the Bundesliga champions. 

Having then stood out during his short spell in Germany, Bayern have opted to buy Jeong in a move that will see him become only the second ever South Korean to play in the Bundesliga.

He will follow in the footsteps of Tottenham forward Son Heung-min, formerly of Bayer Leverkusen and Hamburg.

Indeed, Jeong has regularly been likened to Son and is expected to one day replicate the success that the Spurs man has enjoyed in Europe.

The 25-year-old was the only player to win two Premier League player of the month awards last season and is now widely recognised as one of Mauricio Pochettino's most important players. 

Though Jeong has a long way to go to match his compatriot, it is hoped that his move to Bayern Munich will only help aid his rapid development and having played for South Korea at junior level, the Incheon United star could soon be representing his country at senior level.
