Manchester United have reportedly placed a €15m price tag on out of favour right back Matteo Darmian after AC Milan expressed an interest in the player.

The full-back has been destined for an Old Trafford departure ever since Jose Mourinho took the reins of Manchester United - with Antonio Valencia almost immediately becoming the first choice on the right side of defence.

It now looks as though Darmian will be moving on, and according to Italian transfer guru Tancredi Palmeri, United are planning on receiving €15m (£13.3m) for the 27-year-old.

The Italian joined United in the summer of 2015 when Louis van Gaal signed him from Torino for about £12.7m - meaning they could manage a slight profit on the player who has all in all disappointed in his time in Manchester.

In two whole season at United, Darmian has managed 68 appearances, and it would be a surprise to many if he managed to add to that - with AC Milan interested in his services.

The news of Darmian's potential departure arrives at a similar time to the club being linked with AS Monaco's Fabinho - who despite being known as a holding midfielder, can also fill in at right back.

With the Brazilian's versatility, there would be no shock if he were to end up as cover for Antonio Valencia should he make the switch to Old Trafford - pushing Darmian even further down the United pecking order.
