​Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is supposedly conducting talks with Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham about bringing the youngster to St. James' Park on loan next season.

According to​ the Sun, the Spaniard is willing to pay the Blues a rental fee to increase his chances of signing him, as well as cover his £25k-per-week wages.

The 19-year-old is hot property at the moment, after plundering 26 goals in the Championship for ​Bristol City last season, and is highly likely to be allowed to leave the London club on a temporary basis this summer, with ​Chelsea touted to swoop for Romelu Lukaku.

Unlike Antonio Conte, Benitez feels Abraham is ready for the ​Premier League, and wants to give him a chance to shine, as well as give his side some extra firepower.

Benitez may feel he stands a fair chance at signing Abraham, having managed Chelsea previously in 2012/2013 after taking over from Roberto Di Matteo on an interim basis.
