Chelsea became the first team to win 30 matches in a 38-game season after their victory over Sunderland on Sunday afternoon.

The travelling Black Cats somewhat spoiled John Terry's farewell match at Stamford Bridge after just three minutes when Javier Manquillo opened the scoring.

However, Willian equalled the scoreline only five minutes later, and after a Peculiar 26th minute substitution in which John Terry received a guard of honour from his teammates, Chelsea began to turn on the style in what would be a record-breaking match for the club.

Goals from Pedro and Eden Hazard, followed by a Michy Batshuayi brace handed the champions an emphatic 5-1 victory over Championship bound Sunderland - meaning Antonio Conte's side picked up their record 30th win to once again prove Chelsea are the dominant force in the Premier League.

The result ended Chelsea on 93 points, seven points clear of second placed Tottenham, the Blues winning eight of their last ten matches.

Many will argue that this was only manageable because the Stamford Bridge outfit weren't burdened with any European football, and it remains to be seen if their dominance can continue into next season.

For now though, Conte and his team will be fully focused on winning the double - with a potential FA Cup final victory over Arsenal on the horizon.
