It's been a tough couple of weeks for Barcelona football club. They began by squandering their La Liga hopes in a 2-0 defeat at Malaga, which was followed by a gruelling 3-0 defeat in Turin against Juventus and their exit from the competition after a 0-0 second-leg result at the Camp Nou.

The game against Malaga presented a key opportunity to reduce the gap to league-leaders Real Madrid, who had dropped two points in a 1-1 draw with local rivals Atletico earlier in the day.

But a heavily-rotated Barcelona side were unable to get past Malaga at La Rosaleda, dropping three crucial points in the title-race.

According to Catalan publication Sport, a few Barcelona heavyweights including Javier Mascherano, Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets and Leo Messi forced a showdown meeting on the team-bus to discuss their side's apparent 'crisis.'

The first conclusion made from the conversation was that Barca boss Luis Enrique needs to be more careful with his rotational changes, with some players criticising his choice to rest Gerard Pique, Andres Iniesta and Sergi Roberto against Malaga.

The second point they made was that they need to be more consistent and shouldn't be over-reliant on Messi, Neymar and Suarez.

The third and final point was that there is still time to turn this season around, in spite of their only being six league games remaining this season.

Barca are now three-points behind Real Madrid at the top of La Liga, and although Madrid have a game in hand, Luis Enrique's side could go top if they beat their rivals in this weekend's El Clasico.
