Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce has blamed agents, as the reason that his star asset Wilfried Zaha is being constantly linked with a move away from Selhurst Park.
Tottenham in particular are rumoured to be keen admirers of the 24-year-old, and supposedly made an approach for the player last summer.
As reported by the Telegraph, Allardyce said, "Spurs were always mentioned because agents or somebody decided to stir the pot.
"We all know who stirs the pot, behind the scenes, even though they deny it," he added.
Zaha has been in superb form this season and has so far scored five times and contributed eight assists for Palace.
And 'Big Sam' seems fully aware of how talented the Ivory Coast international is.
"He gets terrible treatment off the opposition because he’s so skilful," said Allardyce.
"He gets kicked as much as (Eden) Hazard. He’s got to realise that’s down to his genius ability, that these lads can’t cope, and because they can’t cope they’ve got to end up fouling him all the time."
Zaha produced another splendid display on Saturday as the Eagles emerged 1-0 winners against Watford, thanks to a Troy Deeney own goal.
Crystal Palace have now won their last three in a row, without conceding a goal.
Those victories have seen Allardyce's men move four points clear of the relegation zone, and the side from London have a game in hand over several of the teams near the bottom.
However, Palace may need that cushion as they face all of the top six sides between now and the end of the season, starting with Chelsea, after the international break.
