Tottenham Hotspur are considering bolstering their midfield with a swoop for AC Milan's creative midfielder Suso. The Spaniard spent five years with Premier League rivals Liverpool, making only 18 appearances, before going on to establish himself at the San Siro.

According to the Mirror, Spurs have identified Suso as one of their options should more ambitious targets such as Real Madrid's Isco, and Everton's Ross Barkley fail to be secured.

Suso appeals to Pochettino's side as he only has two years left to run on his current deal, and knows the Premier League well. At 23-years-old, the midfielder is at a good age to return to the England having matured in Italy.

This season the midfielder has scored six goals and racked up an impressive seven assists for the Rossoneri, starting almost every game in the process.

Suso, who is currently sidelined due to a recent thigh injury, has also attracted interest from Juventus and Chelsea, although Tottenham seem to have moved into pole position for the Spaniard's signature.

AC Milan are currently 7th, some way adrift of the Champions League spots. Nonetheless, with new Chinese investment, the Italian giants are targeting a swift return to Europe's premier competition.
