Finished By 60: Jurgen Klopp Would Be Happy to End His Managerial Career With Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has hinted that there is a chance he could end his managerial career at Anfield. The popular coach plans to return home to Germany after his time with the Reds, but he remains unsure if he will continue his career or not.

Speaking to Redaktions Netzwerk Deutschland, Klopp admitted that he considers it unlikely that he will still be a manager by the time he reaches his 60th birthday. And if Liverpool is the last club he's in charge of, then he'll still be satisfied.

"There will come a day where I decide it has been enough. I would say it is very, very unlikely that I will still be coaching at the age of 60," Klopp explained.

"I will definitely return to Germany to live there," he added. "But I do not know whether I will return to Germany as a coach. I have no plans to annoy someone who does not want me around with my presence at the end of my managerial career.

"If Mainz, Dortmund and Liverpool turn out to be the only three clubs I have coached at the end my career, at least it has been with great clubs."

Klopp, due to turn 50 years of age next June, is currently contracted to Liverpool until 2022. Seeing out the terms of that deal would take him halfway to his planned career limit.

Assuming he continues to enjoy the kind of success he's had in the Premier League this season and in Europe last season, there is no reason to suggest that he wouldn't make it through to 2022, at least.
