The 2016/17 SkyBet Championship will be one of the most highly-contested leagues next season with a record number of ex-Premier League sides all vying to gain promotion back to the top tier of English football.
So with the Championship looking to be as competitive as ever here are five players to look out for in the upcoming campaign...
5. Henri Lansbury
While Nottingham Forest have not enjoyed the best of times over the last few years, Henri Lansbury has been one of their stand-out players ever since he joined them from Arsenal in 2012.
Now captain of the club, the committed central midfielder will look to lead by example; using his passing ability and intelligent play to galvanise a progressing Forest team back up the table as they push for a playoff spot.
4. Will Grigg
Most commonly known for his infamous chant 'Will Grigg's on fire', Will Grigg was pivotal in Wigan's dominance of League 1 last season, netting a total of 25 goals.
Currently ranked Europe's 25th best player by UEFA, the Northern Irishman will be looking to make to step up into the Championship, using his clinical finishing and eye for goal to help re-establish the new promoted Latics back into the second tier of English football.
3. Alan Judge
Shortlisted for last season's Championship Player of the Year award, Brentford's Alan Judge has already proven he is one of the best players in the Championship.
While currently recovering from a leg fracture he sustained at the tail end of last season, Judge will come back even stronger and look to improve on his impressive tally of 16 goals and 11 assists he managed from attacking midfield last season.
2. Jordan Amavi
While Amavi's 2015/16 campaign was cut short through serious injury, the French under 21 left back showed in his mere 10 Premier League appearances last season, that he has serious potential.
Managing an impressive 7.48 WhoScored Rating, he was a massive loss to a struggling Villa side who failed to find a replacement in his absence.
With electric pace, strong reading of the game and a brilliant left-footed delivery, Amavi will be a threat against any defence next season as Villa push for promotion back to the Premier League.
1. Matt Ritchie
Recently acquired by Newcastle for an eye-watering £15m, Matt Ritchie will look to prove his worth in the upcoming season.
Being one of Bournemouth's key players in their impressive 2014/15 Championship title-winning squad, as well as last season's Premier League campaign, the Scottish play-maker has shown not only his ability on the ball but also his capability to create chances and score for distance; totalling an impressive 19 goals and 23 assists over the last two seasons.
With Ritchie returning once again to the division where he was at his best, he looks to be the stand-out player in the Championship next season.
