Have you ever wondered how much money the highest paid executives in the Premier League take home every year? How much they are paid to run our football clubs, provide the best manager, the best players and generally oversee all aspects of the business?

Using account figures, and logical estimates where such figures are undisclosed, the Daily Mail has compiled an excellent list of the top earners at boardroom level at each club. And it makes fascinating reading.

It's probably little surprise to hear that Manchester United's Ed Woodward is the highest paid executive in the country. The Glazer family's right-hand man pockets just over £2.5m for the work he does at Old Trafford, which is marginally more than Ferran Soriano earns across town at Manchester City.

Arsenal CEO Ivan Gazidis and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy (pictured above) each earn more than £2m, with Ian Ayre at Liverpool on a shade under £1.2m. Marina Granovskala, Roman Abramovich's close aid at Chelsea pockets an estimated £1.5m in her role at Stamford Bridge.

Sunderland chief executive Margaret Byrne this week resigned from her role as chief executive at Sunderland as a result of the Adam Johnson case. The former lawyer left behind a sizeable £663,196-a-year job.

Somewhat surprisingly, West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace and an unspecified director at Norwich each earn more than £1m every year. That's much more than high flying West Ham, where Karren Brady (pictured below) takes home just under £650,000.

At both Everton and Southampton the director pay is minimal, while at Aston Villa, American executive Tom Fox is on £300,000. It's far less than most of his Premier League counterparts, but cynical fans would suggest that he doesn't even deserve what he's on after a spectacularly disastrous season at Villa Park.

The highest paid executive at league leaders Leicester makes £145,000, while at Newcastle the unspecified highest earner (most likely managing director Lee Charnley) earns just a touch over £100,000.

You certainly couldn't accuse anyone at Crystal Palace of being in it for greed and personal gain. The Selhurst Park club is run for the love of the game and none of directors or owners there earn a penny for the work they do.

*salaries for Manchester City, Chelsea and Aston Villa are not disclosed, so estimates were made based on previous known figures
